Tim White Jr, the founder, owner and longest standing employee of White Paint comes from a lineage of “painters” and “handymen”. One could say it was programmed in his DNA to at one point or another pick up a paintbrush. Raised in Prince George's County, Maryland, Mr. White always had a knack for constructing, fixing and breaking whatever he could get his hands on. As a young man, he always knew his life would shape up to be different, but even he couldn’t fathom that at age 27 this little gift he ignored for so long could one day turn into an empire in the making.

As a young adult, Tim’s work ethic was something that often set him apart from the crowd. Lawn care, car washing and even decluttering/organizing garages were just a few of the tasks he used not only to earn his spending money but also build relationships with some of his future clients. While he was in high school, he obtained his first job at KFC which furthered his work ethic and taught him one of the more valuable lessons in life. Hard work truly pays off and there are no shortcuts to any place worth going. Not long after, a family member; also, in the home renovation industry offered him an opportunity to gain some different experience and put extra money in his pocket as he prepared for college the following year and thus, the seed was planted.

Fast-forward a year or two later, Mr. White is now a Civil Engineering student at North Carolina A&T State University and painting is just a skill of the past, stored away in the darkest corner of his back pocket. It wasn’t until his desire to be the untraditionally non-broke college student set in and the search for a means of income was eminent. So, Mr. White did what he always did, he leaned on hard work and from there was up and down the road, back and forth to Maryland for small paint jobs. The more he did, Tim realized that painting came easier and easier. Still not seeing that the once planted seed had started to root, he graduated college and accepted his first job with Southland Industries.

Tim returned to Maryland in May of 2019 and started his first job with Southland Industries the following month. Not long after his first day of work…the second day to be exact, he realized that he would never be fulfilled working for the company, or any company for that matter. As time went by, he learned more and more about subcontracting, simultaneously continuing to hone his skills and experience in the home finishing realm. In 2020, he decided to make things official and started White Paint LLC.  Soon after, painting turned into replacing light fixtures, and that turned into mounting TVs, bathroom renovations, kitchen renovations, flooring and the list continued to grow longer and longer. Along the way, Mr. White encountered projects which would require more than just his two hands to complete, he’d need a team to not only improve efficiency but enhance company experience and overall growth. He met several subcontractors, tradesmen and laborers along the way. Some of which comprise the current White Paint team you encounter today.

In March of 2023, Mr. White decided it was time to pour everything he had into his business and White Paint became his full-time career. In 2024, Mr. White obtained his Maryland Home Improvement Contractors License along with the required limited liability insurance required to operate as a good standing Contractor in the state of Maryland. The team has continued to grow and there is very little that White Paint LLC can’t accomplish. Contracts have exponentially grown and matured, White Paint’s marketing presence has taken large strides, and the company is looking forward to a bright future full of satisfying clients and giving back to the community. Mr.  White is comfortably living his purpose, and White Paint is expanding day by day.
